Yes, it's true: she is a teacher and her last name is "Teachey." Some students even call her "Teach."
She has been teaching since 2007.
Current career: homemaker. She is the wife of a geotechnical engineer and the mom of two little girls and a baby boy. She and her husband are also involved in foster care.
Born and raised just outside of Chicago!
The University of Kentucky is her alma mater - she completed her B.A. in English and Theatre and her M.A. in Secondary English Education. GO CATS!!!!!!!
After college she spent a year in Ireland working as an intern for a ministry called Foundation in Christ Ministries. She worked in their cafe, An Tobar Nua, which spends a lot of time ministering to the Galway community.
Though she began her career teaching Spanish-Immersion, Integrated Technology (IT), general, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) English classes, she also has experience teaching film, dance, theatre, and ACT prep.
Mrs. Teachey met Mr. Teachey on eHarmony in 2009. They were married a year and a half later. Here's our story.
Hobbies include: - dancing (lindy hop, mostly) - photography - writing letters (Yes - letters! Not email or texting, but real pen-and-paper letters!) - theatre (acting and directing) - choreography (The last show she did was Dayton Christian's production of The Pirates of Penzance in 2013, but she hopes when her kids get older she will have more opportunities to participate in Dayton's theatre community!)
