React to the following quote from chapter 30, p. 261 of Cry, the Beloved Country. How might you relate to it?
“I have never thought that a Christian would be free of suffering, umfundisi. For our Lord suffered. And I come to believe that he suffered, not to save us from suffering, but to teach us how to bear suffering. For he knew that there is no life without suffering.”

Its showing us that jesus suffered to show that we will all suffer. I relate to this in school when i get a bunch of homework. I suffer from time loss and especially time to play outside. I suffer time to play with friends and time to have fun.

That shows that Jesus experienced the human life and what we are going through, and he did this so that we could look at his life to see how he reacted to things and use it in our own lives. Everything in Jesus' life is a lesson to us. Every activity he did every emotion he expressed is to show us how we should life our own lives. The quote also shows the proper way how a Christian should look at his life, knowing about and preparing himself for suffering and doing it all for, through, and with the Lord

Suffering is a key part of our lives. It is always going to be there no matter what, and we have to learn to deal with it in a righteous and non self destructing way. Suffering helps us grow and become better people, and I believe we need it, mental and/or physical. Suffering helps us figure out how to life life, it teaches us things nothing else can.

I completely agree with Nathaniel that Jesus experienced everything that we go through today, with the exception of sin. Every moment of Jesus's life is a handbook for how we ourselves are to live our own lives. Jesus suffered an unimaginable amount, and when we compare that to our own sufferings, they seem insignificant. Jesus did not come to save us from suffering, he came to save us from the penalty of death for our sins. I suffer when my friends are seriously hurt or anxious. I want to do whatever I can to help them and make them happy again.

I personally think that in a way the quote is right because Jesus did save us from suffering but at the same time he showed us what to do in a time of suffering which is ask for forgiveness for us he asked God to forgive us because we had no clue what we were doing hanging the Messiah up on a cross. So I feel like Jesus showed us how to deal with suffering but also what suffering looks like.

it makes sense, and I wouldn't argue with what he said.
