To begin the year, the in-person drama class will learn how to tell a story by using your body. Students were divided into 3 groups and a director was appointed for each group. Each group will write and perform a musical mime -- a story without words. We will perform these for each other in class on October 8. Looking forward to seeing your creativity!
Only two more rehearsals left until our performance on December 20! Students should have ALL costumes and prop pieces beginning this week at rehearsal.
On Thursday, December 20 we will open the doors at 1:15 - Mrs. Brembeck's 4th and 5th grade class will perform first, followed by the 5th and 6th grade musical mime performances. Break a leg! Today we began a new unit where students chose from a list of songs to create a story to perform on the afternoon of December 20th. Each group has permission to bring an mp3 player (tablet, cell phone, etc.) for the sole purpose of rehearsing their plays (12:45-2:15 on Thursdays). If a student doesn't have a device, not to worry - each group only needs one device and there are 3-4 students in each group, or we can use my phone to play the song if needed.
To learn more about the nature of the assignment and its purpose, you can find a description here. Today each group chose a song, and I then sent the file to everyone in the group so it could be uploaded to an mp3 player. I look forward to seeing everyone on December 20 for their performances! Students: Go to your group's list and choose one of the songs on the list that you would like to use for the soundtrack of your story.
