Tiresias arguably has the most important line in the play:
“[T]o err is human, and he alone is wise and happy, who, when ills are done, persists not, but would heal the wound he made.” In other words, for a person to be both wise and happy he/she must learn how to own up to mistakes. Think of a time in your life when you (or someone you know, either in real life or in another story) made a mistake. What happened? Did you swallow your pride and own up to the mistake, or did you dig in? What did/should you have learned from that experience?

One time one of the figures that my brother was collecting and kept it for myself. When he realized that it was missing, he asked me if I had it, and I admitted that I had taken it and that I was sorry. He was mad for about 30 minutes, but forgave me afterwards.

One time when I was mad at my brothers, I took the marbles they were playing with and hid them around the house. They asked me if it was me and I said yes. They apologized for what they did, and I said sorry for what I did. I gave them their toys back.

Several days ago I road my bike to a park to play soccer with a friend. I left my bike next to his parents car. We played soccer for two hours, when i was about to leave I saw that my my bike was gone, it had been stolen. I was actually borrowing my dad's because I didn't have my own. When I got back home I told my Dad, he got angry at me and I went inside. I should have brought my bike lock.

One time my sister took my money and I asked her if she had taken it. She owned up to it and gave it back right then and there. I forgave her since she gave it back but I still was a little upset that she took it.

One time I was in the car with my sister and niece and we were going back to my house, before we were supposed to put 100 dollars in their bank account. When they couldn’t find it they questioned me and I said I didn’t touch it. So they ask my niece over and over and then she finally said she put it under her dresser. While my brother in law when to go get it he also found the chocolate he was gonna give to his grandpa who died. The chocolate bar was half eaten. They were both really mad for a while and my niece said sorry but she was still grounded Comments are closed.
