Be ready to perform, recite, or present your classical coffeehouse selection for Mrs. Furst. It does not have to be perfect or completely memorized, but it should be well rehearsed (if a monologue, scene, play, or musical piece) or at least halfway finished (if an art piece).
Mrs. Furst and I will give you suggestions for improvement. By now you have chosen the kind of piece you will present at the Classical Coffeehouse. The next step is planning out your piece. This means:

Read through the description of the assignment to make sure you're following the guidelines. Here are your options (choose at least one):
Be ready to do your final performance of your monologue next week. We will start with workshopping Group 2 while Groups 1 and 3 rehearse, then performances will begin!
Break a leg! Here is a description of the assignment and how it will be graded. In class on 9/28, you chose a monologue from Euripedes' play Medea to perform for the class. It must be about one-minute long (please, no longer!). We will rehearse these monologues on 10/04 and you will perform yours on 10/12. Break a leg! Next week we will do "mini auditions" - you'll be asked to perform a monologue for the class. It does NOT have to be memorized. Choose one of the monologues on the assignment sheet and rehearse it on your own. Feel free to bring props or costumes!
