This performing arts course, along with its companion courses – Classical Studies and Choir – introduces junior high students to the performing arts. Students will read and discuss various playwrights and plays of literary merit throughout the year. Playwrights include Euripides, Shakespeare, Molière, Chekhov, Williams, Simon, and Wilder. Each quarter, students will be asked to memorize and perform scenes from these works, culminating in the Classical Fine and Performing Arts Showcase in March.
