This unit we have talked a lot about round characters (that is, characters who are morally complex -- a mixture of good and bad). Choose a character from another story or a person from history whom we could also consider “round.” What makes that person complex? Be sure to give detailed examples to illustrate what you mean.

Harry Potter is a round character, he uses his magic for good but sometimes he uses it for get revenge or retaliateing against someone. In the end he is a good person but he just needs to use his magic in a good way.

Harry Potter in my opinion is not a round character because he still is good at the end of the story. He only uses his magic for good or to avenge his family and friends.

Percy Jackson is a round character. He is a boy who has no idea there is a different world that he was apart of. He new all about the greek world by the end of the story figuring out that he was related to a greek god. Percy Jackson was a round character who changed throughout the story.

In the movie " Beetlejuice" one of the main characters Beetlejuice wad a round character because he was trying to help the married couple get their house back, but at the same time he was a trouble maker. He would always mess up on something and try to make it right afterwards. He even tried to marry the other families thirteen daughter.

Tom Sawyer is a round character because he is hard to understand. He gets into trouble but he still seems to have a good character. He is good but still makes mistakes. Those are a couple reasons Tom Sawyer is a round Character.

I think that John Brown is an example of a round character. In raiding an arsenal as an attempt to arm enslaved people for an uprising, John Brown demonstrated the courage to stand up against the major injustice of the time: slavery. Not many people are willing to give their lives for such a noble cause, but violence is never the answer. Brown is a round character because even though he acted violently and had murderous flaws, he addressed the fact that African Americans had lived in darkness and misery for centuries, and it was time for a change. There were better ways that this problem could have been handled, but in a world where society didn't listen to the cry for freedom or equality, John Brown's raid was an act of bravery.
