At one point, Papa tells Cassie that “there’ll be a whole lot of things you ain’t gonna wanna do but you’ll have to do in this life just so you can survive… But, there are other things, Cassie, that if I’d let be, they’d eat away at me and destroy me in the end… There are things you can’t back down on, things you gotta take a stand on. But it’s up to you to decide what them things are,” (ch. 8, p. 175-176). What does Papa mean by this? How should a Christian person go about deciding what things to “let be” and what things to take a stand on?

What he means is some times you have to step in other times you stay neutral.A christian should take some action when the situation is morally wrong but when politics come in they need to stop and vote for the most Christian option as possible.

I think that if you see something that is not godly or is like satanic you should probably step in. But if someone doesn't believe in God or they worship a different god and you've already tried to convert them to god and they wont just leave it be

Papa means that we have to do difficult things that are hard but they will reward us later in life, as a Christian we should always choose the right thing, but what people think is right is different for different people.

Papa means that there are things that will happen in your life that you will have to try to change or end or else they may end up hurting you. Christians do this by standing up for their beliefs even though they may be persecuted or killed for believing. All over the world christians are killed every day, these people are called martyrs. Papa has to go through times where he has to stand up for his own rights, even though he may be killed or hurt, just like a christian would stand up for their beliefs.

As Christians, we should strive for peace ultimately, because conflict is ugly, and violence is one of the deepest wrongs of this world, but there are certain times when we must stand up for what is right. When a major injustice is done to ourselves or another, we should be able to face the problem head on, not with intense anger or violence, but with dignity as followers of Christ. This should be done for the greater good of bringing peace, and not for personal gain, for Jesus himself says, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God." (NKJV Bible)

As Christians sometimes we have to let things be because of society. But we should still know what's right and wrong, and how we should deal with it. When people disagree with our opinions we shouldn't get mad and solve things with violence, but with calm words, and just walk away from the arguement. God has taught us how to deal with these things, and sometimes we have to use our biblical information to solve the problem.

Papa means that in life you will have things you need to do to survive and things that you need to not do. As Christians, we need to do certain things to make the world a better place, and things we should just leave be. Comments are closed.
